Our Story
Hi, I'm MeiMei Fox.
I'm a 2x New York Times bestselling author and Stanford-trained psychologist.
I've coauthored or ghostwritten over a dozen nonfiction books and memoirs, all published by Big 5 New York publishing houses. I've also written more than 1,000 articles for publications including The New York Times, Forbes, Huffington Post, Self, and Stanford magazine. Two of my poems were selected for publication in anthologies.
With 25 years of publishing industry experience, I am passionate about helping first-time authors share their inspirational stories with the world. I created Your Bestselling Book to be able to reach more aspiring authors than ever before.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University with a BA and MA in Psychology, I spent two years working as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. Then I left the business world to pursue my twin passions for writing and coaching, earning an MA in Counseling Psych. These days, I live in Honolulu, Hawaii with my husband and our twin boys, although we love to travel and you will frequently find us globe-trotting!
Hi, I'm Jen Tate.
I'm a bestselling coauthor and award-winning documentary filmmaker. As Chief Creative Officer of Your Bestselling Book, I join my long-time friend and collaborator MeiMei Fox as a story doula, ghostwriter and book collaborator, editor, writing coach, and creative strategist.
I have served as Executive Director of the Portland Area Theatre Alliance, Producer of Oregon Documentary Camp, and steward of my own documentary short, Karaoke People. In 2019, I co-founded Oregon Media Lab to extend the reach of my role as a creator and producer on a range of media projects from PSAs to feature films.
After studying creative writing and improvisation at Stanford University, I went on to write for CNET and Network for Good (a joint venture of AOL, Cisco and Yahoo!). I then studied media and education at San Francisco State, and fulfilled a life-long dream of working at Sesame Street. These days, I live in Portland and am enjoying my "free bird" status with adult children off to college!
Hi, I'm Kelsey Makaiwi.
I am the creator and host of the Greater Connection podcast. I love telling and sharing stories, believing this to be the fundamental way that we humans can connect more deeply with ourselves and with other people.

Originally from Northern California and of Hawaiian ancestry, a few years back I found a home in a vibrant creative community in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This is where I now joyfully reside!
