Tapping Into the Power of Teamwork
Mar 23, 2024In 8th grade, my good friend Rachel and I wrote this song as we worked together on a class project:
Cooperation, it's in our blood
Cooperation, we won't stop til we're done
Cooperation, it takes two people
Cooperation, cause you and I are equal!
There's a silly little tune that goes along with it. Wish I could sing it for you!
Anyway, the point is: You can put teamwork to work for you.
Don't want to write your book, found your company, or volunteer for your community to make change happen alone? You don't have to!
WRITING TIP OF THE WEEK: Consider a Collaboration
Famous people, CEOs, celebrities, and influencers have collaborated with ghostwriters like me for decades. (See, most recently, Prince Harry's collaboration with J.R. Moehringer on Spare.)
You can also collaborate by teaming up with a business partner, academic colleague, or friend to write a book together. This is becoming more and more popular with each passing year.
Also, you can consider editing a book, and soliciting other coaches, therapists, professors, founders, philanthropists, and people in your field of expertise to each contribute a chapter.
The great news is that not only do "many minds make light work," to paraphrase the old saying, but also... the more people contribute, the more people are on board to promote the book when it's done!
Are you considering a collaboration?
Aloha,
MeiMei
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“My model for business is The Beatles. They were four guys who kept each other's kind of negative tendencies in check. They balanced each other and the total was greater than the sum of its parts. That's how I see business: great things in business are never done by one person. They're done by a team of people."
– Steve Jobs
